Larry Keeping presents at the Society of Fire Protection Engineers (SFPE) conference in Toronto.

On November 12th, Larry Keeping, Senior Technical Specialist at PLC Fire Safety Solutions, Mississauga Office, provided a presentation on the significant changes that were introduced into the newly released 2016 edition of NFPA 13, Standard for the Installation of Sprinkler Systems.

Larry provided a summary of the amendments to the standard including background information and a rational as to why the changes were made. Talking points included: commodity classifications when there is a mix of expanded and unexpanded plastics, reinstalling sprinklers, the use of extension fittings, air venting, sprinklers in bathrooms, cloud ceilings, pipe stands, alternative protection, column protection, and protection of exposed expanded Group A Plastics.
